    Toni Allison

    PRESIDENT

    Toni was born in Boise. She is a Nampa High & NNC graduate and a 40-year resident of Meridian. Toni is a retired educator, mother, grandmother, and wife of 48 years. She enjoys reading, knitting, puzzles, gardening and spending time with family especially at the Garden Valley cabin. She has been a volunteer at the Center for 13 years while also volunteering at the Meridian Food Bank. The Meridian Senior Center is a haven for seniors to enjoy socializing and activity. What's not to love?!

    VICE PRESIDENT

    Gary was born in Langdon, North Dakota and moved to Los Angels after high school graduation. He attended barber college and worked as a barber by day and as a nightclub manager by night to put himself through more college. He opened his own barbershop and finished his degree in Business Administration. He married Shirley in 1976 and combined their family of 3 children. They now have 5 children total and 8 grandchildren. For many years, Gary was a distributor manager/supervisor for Campbell Soup, Coca Cola, Gourmet Specialties, Sysco Foods and Super Value. Before retiring to Meridian, Idaho in 2013, he was a real estate agent in Livermore, California. He joined the Center in 2015 and loves playing pinochle.

    Ruby Struble

    TREASURER

    Ruby has 2 children and 2 granddaughters. She’s originally from California. In her free time, she loves to garden and travel. Ruby also enjoys volunteering and has been doing so for many years since her husband passed away. Ruby not only serves on our board but volunteers with Metro Meals on Wheels Monday through Friday and Bingo on Friday nights. In 2022, she was awarded the Idaho Andrus Award for her many hours of volunteering. She will tell you that she loves the Center.

    Linda Archbold

    SECRETARY

    Linda retired to Idaho almost 25 years ago. She spent 33+ years as a flight attendant. Linda enjoys road trips, gardening, golf, friendships and changing seasons. Being with the Center is an extension of the volunteer work I have been involved in over the past 40+ years. It is an opportunity to meet new friends, gives me a sense of community and the opportunity to give back.

    Dorothy Greenzang

    Dorothy has lived in many states but calls Idaho home. She is the co-owner in her family business, Idaho Gold & Silver. She has one son, James, who keeps her out of trouble.

  • Larry Nelson

    Larry Nelson

    Larry graduated from the College of Business at the University of Idaho. He worked in the wholesale business for 10 years. Larry and his wife, Darlene, have been married for 57 years. They were blessed with a daughter in 1970. Larry appreciates all of the seniors who have become friends over the years.

  • Larry VanOver

    Larry VanOver

    Larry was born in Boise. He was married for 54 years to Linda VanOver, his junior high sweetheart and high school fiancé. Linda passed away in 2015. They have 2 daughters one is Buffy, who drives our buses, the other is Jennifer. Larry has 1 grandson, and 2 grand-daughters. In 2016, Larry married his sweetheart, Marie, who also volunteers at our Center in the boutique. They were married on her birthday, September 8th, 2016. As a retired civil engineer he still loves to travel. He spends a lot of his free time volunteering here at the Center.

  • Don Hahn

    Don Hahn

    Don was born in Denver, grew up in Casper WY, moved to Boise 1961 and graduated Borah High 1963. He received a BA in accounting from Boise College in 1971. He was Idaho licensed as CPA in 1972 and retired in 2015. Don worked 20 years in corporate accounting and finance, 30 years in public accounting as sole owner of Hahn & Associates CPA which he sold to his son Dean. Don has 3 sons and 1 daughter, 8 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. He has been a member of Meridian Senior Center since August 2021.

  • Jetta Schmidt

    Jetta Schmidt

    Jetta was born in Germany and immigrated to the U.S. arriving in New York Harbor on Feb. 14th, 1956. has 2 daughters and 1 son with her late husband, Orville. She enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom while raising her children but through the years she has worked many interesting jobs. Jetta worked for an insurance company and painted china for the famous Franciscan Ware. She worked at Gowen Field and First Security Bank but her greatest rewards came from volunteering at her church and at Horizon Elementary for 22 years in 1st & 3rd grades with the same teacher for which she received the Jefferson Award from Channel 8. Jetta also was a translator and host for the Russian-speaking Special Olympic team in 2008 from Central Asia. She also loves to dance and here at the Meridian Senior Center she gets to keep dancing and volunteering.

  • Susan Corr

    Susan was born and raised on a farm in Nebraska before relocating to Idaho with her husband and two sons in 1990. For 22 years, she dedicated herself to the accounting department of a law firm before retiring in 2012. Susan and her husband share a passion for travel, having explored 47 out of the 50 states along with Denmark. Presently, she oversees operations at the Meridian Senior Center boutique. With two grandchildren, Susan cherishes staying active and engaging in volunteering activities, finding the center a wonderful hub for socializing and maintaining an active lifestyle.

As part of the Meridian community for more than 70 years, the members own and operate the Center as a nonprofit organization. We are self-governing with an elected board of directors and officers who serve strictly as volunteers. The City of Meridian does not govern or dictate our activities or operation. 

We rely on our generous donors, community sponsors, membership dues, project grants, fundraisers, venue rentals, boutique sales, transportation revenue, and bingo to fund the Center and our activities. ​
